SlimSun Too Solar development.
Location
Malmesbury, Swartland, in the Western Cape, South Africa. The solar plant is being developed on a 10 ha site.

Sustainable Power Solutions (SPS) and licensed trader Energy Exchange of Southern Africa (EXSA).
Project Description
The project entails the construction of two 5.6 MW solar projects.
The project is expected to generate about 12-million kilowatt-hours yearly.
Further, SPS has secured an Eskom grid connection agreement that is large enough to accommodate an additional phase to double SlimSun Too's capacity to 10 MW

Each solar project has an investment value of about R87-million.
Planned Start/End Date
Construction for the first solar project started in July 2024 and is targeted for completion by May 1, 2025. The second solar project will start in May 2025 and is projected to be completed within 12 months.
Latest Developments
The 5.6 MW first phase of the development is in its final commissioning stage and will soon start supplying wheeled renewable electricity to businesses that have contracted with EXSA.
EXSA’s ten-year power purchase agreement for all the electricity produced has proven crucial in advancing the project to financial close, with Investec having provided the finance.
EXSA will sell the electricity to companies, such as Woolworths, Mediclinic and the Delaire Graff Estate, as well as other commercial and industrial entities.
Financial close on the second R87-million project has been achieved and construction is scheduled to start in the coming months.
